Mt. Maya has one of the best view of Kobe and Osaka. When it is fine you can see Kansai Airport or Awaji Island. If you stay Kobe long, I would recommend to become a member of supporter of Maya View line. I costs you...More

You can have a beautiful view on the landscape of Kobe and Osaka. The park is not crowded, I think not many tourists flood to this place yet. Getting to the cable car can be quite a challenge as there is not much info provided...More

All said about the beautiful views. I can also recommend Mt Maya a to start a hike alongside Kobe. I combined Mt Maya and the nunobiki gardens and waterfalls into a nice 6 hrs hike (could be made less using the cable cars). Walking up...More

Just an FYI that the cable car and ropeway are closed and will reopen on Saturday, 03/04/17. If you're going to Kobe, maybe consider sticking around the harbor area near Kobe station instead of going all the way to Shin Kobe.

With four adults walking at a moderate pace and stopping at the lookouts this took us almost four hours from Shin-Kobe train station to the cable car station near the summit, definitely longer than expected based on other reviews. The lower part of the walk,...More

Is the hike from top station Shin-Kobe Ropeway to Mt Maya Kikuseidai viewpoint an easy walk (clearly marked trail, any stairs)? Any rest-stops in between? How long will it take if we take a leisurely walk? Thanks!
