The views from top of this mountain are fantastic. You can see all the way to Osaka and beyond. Easy to get to by public transportation from JR train station in Kobe, then you take bus number 16 or 106 for 210 yen which drops you just at the trolly ride up the mountain. Once up there, you can take... More

We have always wanted to visit Mt Rokko but getting to the top is challenging until we get to know that there is a transport package and we jumped into it! We bought this ¥1000 Rokkosan Tourist Pass at Umeda’s Hankyu Tourist Centre, good deal. We alight at Hanshin Mikage (HS25) 御影駅station and took the #16 Kobe City bus. Barely... More

It took us 2.5 hour from Osaka to here by public transport. It is exhausting But when we arrived, everything changed. This is a small park where children could play with snow, ski, ski board. Rental and entry fee is very reasonable. Place with many staff to ensure safety of kids. They also offer lesson for children to learn ski.... More

Couldn't see very far. Not sure if it was due to the cold air and mist. Maybe cause it was late afternoon in November and the sun was no so bright. Nevertheless you can still get decent background pics from the observation deck.

We made the mistake of going up (impromptu) on a thursday only to realise ALOT of the attractions were closed. urrgh! nevertheless, the musical box museum would have been an interesting stop and the view from the top of mt rokko would have been great too. when we got there it was super cloudy and foggy that we couldnt really... The view from Mount Rokko on a good day gives a full impression on Kobe. The mountain top is marked by a huge souvenir shop and cafeteria. But also by a real impressive highlight, an architectural artwork not to miss.

Mt. Rokko is beside its port the symbol of Kobe. There are a farm, a botanic garden, a sky slope and more in this areas, and it is a favorite destination for the local people for excursion. The easiest way to get there is taking a cable car. You can also descend the mountain on the back side to Arima,... More

Even on a hazy day you can see a long way from the top and the views over Kobe are quite something. The cable cars from either end are a good experience in their own right, I'd recommend using the free bus between the two though as although it's not a long walk there are very few foot paths and... Need to research abit on hold to visit this place as you need to take the local bus to the tram station. The nightview is great. you get to see Kobe, Osaka from up there. We dined at the restaurant above waiting waiting for the sun to set. Is a really cold and windy place.

The car ride to Mt Rokko can be nauseating for those who don't like cars. The number of hairpin turns to the top can take its toll on the nausea centre - so don't sit in the back seat - and don't go up after dark or in the fog - you'll need to see where you're going to avoid... More
