We took the train from Tokyo and it was around an hour or more ride. There was a very friendly lady who welcomed us when we arrived. It's a small place but it's a really peaceful place. As a non-muslim, I was given a scarf to wear over my head before visiting the second level of the mosque. There is... More

We visitted the mosque because we would like to be the witness of one the historical mosque in the world. This mosque survived 2 great disasters..world war 2 and a great earthquake..while the rest of the buildings in the area were destroyed to ruins...Subhanallah..amazing

the mosque is beautiful and well kept. The imaam gives the Friday sermon in 3 languages, Arabic, Japanese and English so everyone can understand it. They also let in non-Muslims who want to sit and see what prayers are like and listen to the sermons which I think is a very good initiative. You can find a halal Indian restaurant... More

It is located in the Kitano-cho foreign district of Kobe. Owing to its basement and structure, the mosque survived the air raids that laid waste to most of Kobe's urban districts in 1945 and was able to endure through the Great Hanshin earthquake in 1995. The mosque is located in one of Kobe's best-known tourist areas, which features many old... More

I'm so happy to be able to visit a mosque that has it's own miracle. It survive a history of world war and still looks amazing. Only it's cold during winter and not many people is here to perform solah.

Kobe Muslim Mosque has great and beautiful building structure (interior and exterior). When you had a Jum'ah Shalat, there'll be Khutbah in 3 language (Japanese, English, and Arab), so very amazing. Beside that, you'll find Kobe Halal Food shop near this mosque. :)

I didn't have the chance to enter the mosque but it looks very beautiful from the outside. For Muslims visiting Kobe, it is truly recommended to visit this historic mosque because just opposite the mosque, there is a Halal grocery shop and a Halal restaurant. Thus, it is convenient to dine and perform prayer. The mosque is accessible by a... More

It was our first Ramadan experience in Japan and it fell during the hot weather spell of the July summer. Hence Fasting was a real challenge starting from 3.26 a.m and breaking fast at 7.20. We thought it as manageable to walk to the mosque from Sanomiya station, but in the heat walking uphill to the mosque was a big... More

As the oldest mosque ever built in Japan, this mosque with Middle-eastern design situated in the middle of famously-known Westernized Kobe City is definitely a must-visit. Information on Islam is available inside and if the Imaam (head of the mosque) is present, he will even provide you with a short explanation of the mosque. Though the area is a little... More
