We visited this are on Easter Sunday this year. The whole experience was very moving. People came and paid their respects at the bell and would ring it. A very powerful feeling of both sadness and peace here. Should be part of a visit when in Hiroshima.

Ring the bell to remember the horrors of what happened and to ring out hope that it will never happen again. One of many memorials in the park.

The solemn sound of the bell can be heard across the Peace Park as visitors ring it, showing their sympathy for the victims of Hiroshima, and their support for a world free of nuclear weapons.

This is in the peace park so is easily seen. You can actually "ring" the belll then stand under it as it reverberates. Our kids loved it.

Hiroshima is a place for reflection. Having thought about the terrible thing that happened here and read the inscription about the Bell, I thought about my little grandchildren and felt compelled to ring the bell as loudly as I could. More in hope than expectation I have to say. If history teaches us anything it is that history repeats itself.

Another well constructed monument in Peace Park. It is an impressive, solid bell - you are permitted to actually ring the bell, which is wonderful.
