A visit to the dome is a moving experience and a reminder of why international peace is so important. To actually visit is a humbling experience

I was unsure about this one but I am glad I went. Very sobering to read some of the stories scattered around the area about how destructive it was and to see how much they have re-built. Try going at night for a full effect.

Another relic showing the effect of the bomb. Personally not as impressionable as the museum. You can’t get near the building.

This is a fantastic piece of history. Reading the plaques around the area make a pretty straightforward message. Keep peace and prevent war which I think the Japanese people really believe in. The structure had a board there which showed the building before the bombing...More

It is an amazing memorial to those that perished in 1945. Beautifully maintained. Along the river near the T-shaped bridge that was the intended target. Go. Read. Learn and respect.

This is a very sobering reminder to us all of what if,I think all the world leaders should stand here and look at this and ponder their thoughts for 10 mins and then go to the peace museum, a must see when visiting Hiroshima,

This is part of the peace park. There’s a beautiful water fountain nearby along with an individual who provides info, free in several languages, English, Spanish, German, Dutch, Italian, French, in bound notebooks laid on the ground near the dome. Each time I’ve been there,...More

I think this is must see place in Hiroshima. You can feel the terrible history moment and understand how bad it was.

Such an iconic part of Hiroshima’s history. Its in a different part to the peace park but so close and definitely a must visit.

Congratulations to Japan for preserving this building, or what's left of it after much of Hiroshima was obliterated in August 1945. Seeing it, photographing it, just being there, is a very special and emotional experience.

Don't bother with a tour. It's simple to get around on foot and you can get headphones with English translation. Inexpensive and intensely moving experience. The City of Hiroshima is beautiful and very peaceful with wide... More

Hiroshima has plenty of places for sight seeing. Other than the Atomic Dome and Park, there are other places you can go. Their shopping district is good. I personally like it as it it's sheltered and you can walk and window... More

It is in an open park so it is always open. The whole park has various places within it, one site being the Atomic Bomb some. the museums keep open and closing hours. Hope this helps.
