We went for the last hour part. It's not fair to say this isn't terrible. It really is, at least for a non-Japanese speaker. If you're used to good dance, lip synching or acting, this isn't it. The costumes where kind of interesting and the...More

This was a very interesting experience which is quite difficult to describe. The show is 3 hours long, so be prepared. People bring their own food and drinks, so don't be shy to bring your own. This is not your traditional theatre. A few beers...More

Absolutely great experience. It has three parts, one hour each. Two of them are musical and do not need any translation. One, seems drama, difficult understand the plot but interesting to see the acting, clothes, and decorations. Every new act is unpredictable: new colors, new...More

First off: the map location is currently wrong. It's not near the sogo dept store! It's actually closer to the Hiroshima station in between the two rivers. So search for the theater instead of following the map. The show was interesting. I felt completely alien...More

After a long day, it was nice to sit. Three plays. First was funny, second was about the a bomb, which was kinda weird me, and the last was like an old timey burlesque show with dudes in girl's komonos and what not. This play...More

I totally enjoyed this experience. Best night out for a long time. Couldn't understand a word but loved the feeling of being involved in something totally Japanese. The performers were great and the effort for a small crowd unbelievable. Got a feeling it exists somewhere...More

This is really a very local thing in Hiroshima as the crowd is made up of 90% elderly women with a few men and children and a couple of younger women (with an older friend/relative?). I was the only gaingi there. It is sort of...More

Such a funny/professional/entertaining show. It was a mix of singers, dancers and a comedy/drama type thing. It was quite long (maybe 3 hours if I remember correctly), and the audience was mostly older women keen to throw money at the hansom men dressed as women......More

My wife and I were exploring Hiroshima and stumbled upon this gem. Neither my wife or I speak very much Japanese at all but it was a very enjoyable experience anyway. First hour or so is an actual show, we got the gist of the...More

I don't understand any Japanese but still really enjoyed it!  Good indoor sit down activity after running around Japan for a week in the rain. $18 well spent.  10 minute walk from the train station. No reservations, just show up before the show, they start...More
