If you want to stroll around a park, I would suggest Odori Park, where you have a lot of eating and drinking options along the way.

The campus is very nice. I visited during summer so it was green and nice to walk around. I also visited the Botanical garden (entrance fee needed) of the University located a little far from the campus.
Its historical buildings and elm and gingko trees draw many tourist. We enjoy walking around the campus and visit the Museum. Its free and you can see many interesting display, scientific samples and a huge mammoth.
