This area is not touristy as it is far away from the city center.
There are two rows of shops lined on both sides of the road.
They are selling seafood and they serve fresh seafood at the back of the shops. We had Kaisen don here and they were very delicious.
Comparing to Nijo market, it is more open and less crowded here. The other difference are there are many dining options and fresh local fruits.

Wide range of fresh seafood (king crabs and others) and fruits (corn, yubari melons) at good prices. The cream puff snack is a must get in my opinion, we had it twice the 2 times we were there during a trip, too good! The seafood stall owner we ordered from was a very honest and nice guy, even delivered to our hotel after they ended work as we couldn’t manage the bulky king crab packaging.

A truly delightful & easy to get around city. With the mountains just "next door". I simply love the setting ...with the walking- street shopping right in the center , bisecting the city. Sapporo beer is fantastic and her folks friendly. Like most cities in Japan...the ramen is best, seafood absolute and ice cream/Hokkaido tarts... a screamer.

It’s a distance walk from the subway station. We had hamasaki crab, crab on rice, uni rice and grilled scallop. It’s a great experience if u are a seafood lover. After our meal we brought some fruits as dessert!

The small eateries are supposed to serve the workers of the stalls and visiting local customers. However, they have cunningly adjusted to the swarming tourists so that on the two occasions of our visits, we received merely bowls of rice with seafood of mean portion and no outstanding quality. Let down, both.
That said, the bbq oyster and scallop stall satisfied passing tourists without failure, pricing reasonably. That's not to be missed. It is the stall that brings up the score here.

The Market is not large. The stalls sell all sorts of seafood, fresh as well as processed. The Hokkaido king crabs remain the main attraction. Visitors can pick what they like and ask the stalls to cook the food for them. There are also a few seafood restaurants at the site. In terms of size, this is at most about 1/3 of the size of the Hakodate morning seafood market. The choices are less. For those who have visited the Hakodate market, there is no need to come here.

We ordered 10 items off the menu for 8 of us and it costs less than ¥26,000! We had 2 Chirashi bowls, abalone, grilled Hokke, scallops, grilled Hokkaido crab legs, otoro sashimi, crab miso soup and uni sashimi for breakfast. The seafood were really fresh. Highly recommended

This market opens in the morning until arround 14:00. Best time is to come arround 10:00-13:00
The market is full of Sea Food, both fresh and processed. Some stalls provide restaurant for thr customers to dine in, some only sell the seafood.
We dined in, the the freshness of sashimi is unbeatable!
Note:
From Sapporo station, go via JR rail to Soen station. When you arrive, take west exit and follow the road along the Hokkaido Bank. The market is accross seven eleven store.
Ask the train keeper when confused

Fresh seafood and produce in abundance, including live crabs of all sorts. Ample parking around the market and some even have their own eateries (order and they will prepare on the spot for you).
Friendly staff and speaks enough English.
