The other day, I took a half-day trip using a Chuo Bus 1-day pass. The route network is very extensive, but the number of buses is very low, about one per hour. Also, due to the timetable change, there are few buses that go directly to the center of Sapporo (Odori direction), so if you want to go to Odori or the center of Sapporo efficiently, I recommend using the subway or JR in combination.

I took a direct bus from Susukino to New Chitose Airport. It was almost full and we shared a table. It takes 90 minutes. We didn't have to change trains with heavy luggage, we could sit down all the time, they would take care of our luggage, it was cool and comfortable. Buy a round-trip ticket to go for 2,500 yen. It was 100 yen cheaper. If it's not direct, it's convenient to go out once every 15 minutes.

We did'nt know this and took the normal bus (The fare is the same 1030Y one way). The non direct bus does not use the highway, makes multiple stops. The whole journey from airport to susukino took 2 hours! Our return back to the airport was on the direct bus - this took only 1hr 15 min. Next time pay attention to this detail. However, direct buses do not run all the time.

This is probably the most convenient and cheapest way to head to Niseko. Trains might be a little cheaper but at with Chuo bus, your luggage is safely stored. I also took the same bus (different route) from Sapporo to New Chitose

I took a couple of chuo buses while in Hokkaido. One from Chitose to Niseko and the other from Niseko to Sapporo. I didn’t have to make a reservation. I just went to the bus stop and got in. The bus was clean and the one to Niseko had slow, but free wifi. Both trips were between 2000-2600 yen. I would recommend the chuo bus if you’re travelling around Hokkaido.

I wouldn't recommend the company for the day trips. They don't provide you any informations in English, no schedule, itinerary. You don't know what time you have the lunch, how long you're gonna stop.....

We took the bus from the airport to Sapparo and then back. The bus was very clean and comfortable.
They were very punctual, so do be at the bus stop at least 5 minutes before the scheduled time.

The Chuo Bus service was reliable and efficient. The Chuo bus from the airport to susukino, 1030 Yen, was about 1 hour. A bit long sitting on a bus but it took us 2 blocks from the hotel, so convenient, clean and safe. The other Chuo Bus was from Odori Park out to Tsudome. Again, efficient and safe.
P.S. If you arrive at the International Terminal, as most will, you must walk the very long corridor to the domestic terminal. There you can buy your bus ticket and board on platform 14 or 22. Can not buy bus tickets at International Terminal.

We took a 4 hour tour with translation. The information was informative of hokkaido and the places we visited. However, I didn't like that they sold us a ticket to tour the factory but the factory was under renovation (they knew it but didn't say anything at the time of ticket purchase because once we got on the bus, they announced that they would be giving adults cookies because the factory tour was under renovation.

From Otaru to the Noboribetsu Sekisui Tei Hotel, where do we get on the bus? And must book in advance or not
Written 17 October 2019
Am visiting Hokkaido from June 27 to July 6. Do I need to reserve or book in advance the courses I prefer or can I book on the eve or go to Chuo office to book on the same day of departure date & time? How many hours to book in advance?

I caught the bus on the street, just like a city bus.

Hi, we are from Jakarta, Indonesia. And this is our first time to Japan. We will be going to Sapporo on July 1. We are taking along our mother with her wheelchair. Is it possible for an old lady with a wheelchair to join in Chuo Bus Sightseeing Tour?
