This is another one of the Top 10 scenic sights in West Lake. It is located on the south side of the lake.

This was once a private residence and I believe it got its name after the red kois in the pond. There are also plenty of lotus flowers and peonies within the garden that offers free admission.

A great place to meander around and gaze at fish in a beautiful garden setting. Many places to sit, relax and enjoy the gardens and the many hangings.

The smog and people in Shanghai and Hangzhou got to me, so it was a nice trip to see the west lake. Unfortunately many others did the same, so peace was hard to find, but anyway nice to see some trees and even some animals for a change. I rented a bike to be able to go all around the lake.

I expected more, but it´s ok. Full of (chinese) tourists. You can see it on a West Lake tour by boat.

I have visited this place with my guided tour. I could recommend to take the tour alone to have a little bit more time. The place is very big and when you are not hurry, you will enjoy.
One minus what this place has is that place is very touristy, attracts all people to spend their free time there. If you have possibility, visit place during week. On the weekend, it is overcrowded. Also when water lily bloom it is overcrowded.
My case I was lucky, no water lily bloom or special event, however no chance to see water lily blooming.

The ponds are close to one of West Lake's causeways. Worth the 5-minute walk to see the colored fish. It would be more fun to buy some fish food and feed the fish.

This was our second stop from the Three Mirror Pool island and before setting off to walk through the Su Causeway, this was a nice stop to take an unimpeded walk through nice gardens.

There is no entry fee here so feel free to go in and quickly skip the first stop you see as there are so many tourists there and it is just a piece of stone signed by one of the emperors in China.

This pitstop is a nice place to be before heading out along the very long Su Causeway

This is quite a popular spot with tourists and you'll know when you get there. You can also feed the fish as the kids found it to be quite exciting. Very serene and was really nice just to walk around.

This spot should be one of the top ten tourist spots in Xihu. We have visited Huaquang Park early in the morning before the group tours arrived and the area was nice and photo attractive. The red carps were seen swimming underneath the meandering stone bridge while the whole area was surrounded by willow and peach trees. Recommended to others but do come early prior to the tours crowded the Park.
