My teenage son and I rode along this road while cycling around West Lake. You can't take it all the way across the river, but it's a very scenic route until you have to turn around and continue around the perimeter of the lake. Very...More

Bai Causeway is a continuation of the Hubin Street northward and a delightful stroll out into West Lake. No cars, but biking and skating allowed. People obviously have a wonderful time, some old men are flying kites, children play and feed a duck or two....More

The causeway enable you to "walk across the lake" while seeing the water and the shoreside sights on both sides. "Electric cars" are provided as a cheap and faster alternative to walking. But it's a very nice walk, and takes you past several scenic attractions.

Of course we walked the causeway but it was a hot day and there was not much shade. Also very crowded. Perhaps the longer causeway would be better for a quieter walk.

If you have not been to Bai Causeway, then others would say that you haven't been to Xihu. The spot was not only scenic particularly in spring time with willow and plum trees around but also the representative spot of Xihu. There were many tourists...More

Walking along banks of West Lake lined with blooming willow trees, while light breeze caresses floral beds underneath mild sunshine, is sheer bliss. Nature's best present to mankind... Then do your best to ignore the cacophony of toddlers shrieking, men spitting, cars humming, and occasional...More

While not as tree lined as the Su Causeway the Bai Causeway is a must if you're in the west lake area. There area number of cafes, restaurants and stalls on this Causeway all offering views of the lake and the city areas. There are...More
