Everyone will meet at the lobby of Tang Dynasty Palace by 7:00pm for you to get a ticket with your name. Enjoy the Splendid Tang Dynasty Music and Dance Show with fabulous music and dancing of Tang Dynasty, China's golden age. The show is also a different way for you to get to know the historical culture of ancient Xian city.

What is great about this excursion is that it combines two great elements in one tour - an entertaining show and dumpling banquet that indulge all your senses. The dumpling banquet comes with approx. 18 varieties of dumplings including pork, chicken, mushroom and duck with leeks, carrots, lotus roots and more. The dumpling banquet starts around 7:00pm and after dinner you will enjoy the Tang Dynasty Music and Dance Show. The show ends about 9:40pm and the tour ends at the Tang Dynasty Palace.

Show plus dumplings

The show was awesome but the dumplings although looked good were not a favourite of ours. Loved the show and the rice wine.

After eating marginal Chinese food for a week we had low expectations since this seemed very touristy. However, the dim sum was exceptional and we ended up leaving a lot unfinished. The show was a fantastic and very professional production. The costumes and live music never missed a note.

This was a very interesting event, with plenty of colour and Chinese music. Certainly portrayed the history of the Tang Dynasty in dance , but not something I would normally entertain. We also enjoyed the Dumpling Dinner, with a great array of tastes.

Worth every penny. Transports you back to the Tang Dynasty! You get to have the drawbridge dropped for you and walk across. And they let you take photos with the actors. The narration is in Chinese and English too! Be prepared for pushy Chinese tourists though - that's just how they are, despite the constant announcements not to crowd...

First things first, this is a tourist trap. If you're not the type who's interested in these 'cultural' sort of activities then is definitely give this a pass. Otherwise keep reading, Spent the evening here upon the recommendation of my tour guide and the hotel concierge desk. There are multiple packages on offer such as the 'dynasty dinner' or the... We visited the show as part of a tourist group, and sat at the very front of the theatre. Before the show started, a group of musicians provided some background music, playing on authentic instruments. The show itself was spectacular, the on stage scenery supplemented by hi tech electronic imaging on the rear screen, which made for some amazing effects.... More

We were a part of Gate 1 15-Day China with Yangtze River Cruise in October. The Tang Dynasty show was an option in Xian which we recommend doing. You can skip the other shows on this tour but not this one. First, it costs half the price of Shen Yun (a spectacular show about Chinese history and culture with annual... More

This is not something I would have booked but really glad it was part of our Wendy Wu Tour. Our guide Lisa was awesome and made sure we got the best out of it.

It's ok - that's about it, food ok but can probably get better elsewhere and the show was ok as well. Better entertainment is grabbing some food and heading to a park or square where you will see local dances Thai chi and singing all for free. I would not hurry back

Maybe we were tired. Maybe the kungfu show was too exciting. Maybe we are just not the type that enjoys folk dance and music.
