Nice history. Good views of downtown. Nice decoration on the walls and ceilings. Cost 50 RMB with bell tower 35 RMB single. Easy to find pretty much centre of Xi'an

After visiting the Drum Tower, its good to balance that with a visit to the bell tower, both of which have interesting historical origins.

There are only two historical buildings in the centre of Xi'An, none of them really special - Drum Tower and Bell Tower. Good to see them when you are already in the city, but not worth a trip.

The view from the drum tower is good. There is a nice display of drums and the performance is good. It is a little work to walk up the stairs but the experience is worth it.

Built in the same style as the bell tower this building houses many drums which were used in olden time for ceremonial purposes. There are daily music performances. Try to arrive to see them play traditional Chinese instruments.

I found my pic on Tripadvisor. The performance times are 9:10, 10:00, 11:00, 15:00, 16:00 and 17:00. Be 30 minutes early as seats are very limited.
