While traveling in China we attended all of the shows suggested by the guide. This was one of them.It had beautiful dancing, singing, costumes but wasn't very memorable. It is a nice show to spend the evening.

We had a fascinating dumpling dinner at the Shaanxi Sunshine Theater in Xian. With a seemingly endless variety of dumplings offered for our tasting, the meal would have been entertainment by itself. However, the accompanying dance performance of many traditional and local custom dances was unsurpassable. It was both very interesting, and beautiful - and like nothing Iwe had ever seen before. DEfinitaly, we would not have wanted to miss this dinner show.

Great story to watch. The graphics, costumes and singing was beautiful. We took the dinner option as well with lots of dumplings. All up a good dinner and show about the female empress.

Our tour guide highly recommended this place to get the dumplings and to see the show. We were very tired, as it was our first day in China, and my husband and son actually fell asleep before the show ended, but the dumplings were good and I was able to enjoy the show.

There was a huge variety of dumplings and many of them were specially shaped, like a dish or a duck, or a pig nose. Some were very cute, and we liked the flavors as well. They weren't the best dumplings we'd ever had, but they were fun and were decent. The service wasn't amazing but it was good enough.

The show was lovely. So many great dancers. The music was good, as was the lighting. It was very visually appealing, just not quite enough to make up for jet lag for the rest of my family. We'd love to all return when we are more well rested.

Delightful Dumplings and Dance, we had lots of dumplings each with different fillings, they were tasteful and served at the table we sat at all evening. Just seemed strange to be eating at a show which was to start after the meal was finished, a novel experience. It was obvious that when more people filled up the tables, you could pay to see the show without the dumplings. The show was a presentation of a variety of dances/music from the Tang Dynasty period, very well presented in the hour it lasted. The long sleeves of the dancers were used to great effect. If it hadn’t been for a group of tourists near to our table who talked through this part of the programme, we would have enjoyed it more.

We bought the combo: dumpling experience + show. Thera are more than 12 different dumplings to taste. It was okay. After dinner we watched the show. Beautiful and perfect. About 1 hour performing dance and music from the golden age. Nice scenarios and costumes. And before every act there is an explanation in English.

Pleased we went as a really good show, only marred by a Chinese lady on the next table who wouldn't silence her phone, and took calls.
Don't expect great food- interesting looking dumplings, rather than delicious, but not a bad price, and probably worth it as an all inclusive deal.

My wife and I went to the Shaanxi Grand Opera House for dinner followed by the “Tang Dynasty Show”.

Dinner was rice wine, cold starters and a never-ending supply of mixed savoury dumplings. All very nice.

The show comprised ten alternating percussion and dance sections with a cast of about 25 and lasting an hour. Prior to each section, there is a Chinese and English translation of what will be depicted. The choreography was very good but it was clear that not everyone enjoyed it (we overall did).

Book in advance for a combined dinner and show price.
