Our guide brought us here. It did feel like a tourist trap. They take you in, show you some art work. Then teach you about Chinese writing and you get to even try your hand at it. Then they try and sell you some art. Even though a tourist 'trap' I still had a great time and very glad we... More

Unless you are seriously into art this might not make your itinerary - unless like us it was an organised stop on our coach trip. Interesting for 30-45 minutes but rather boring after a 90 minute "forced" visit.

My wife and I were taken by our lovely guide to this small but delicate art museum. It was really so much fun there... without the noise from the boom season, we had totally enjoyed the whole tour and had a really unforgettable calligraphy lesson at the end. Had a good time and learned a lot as well. Highly recommend!

The Tang Museum of Art is located in the southern suburbs of the Xi'an Wild Goose Pagoda Scenic Area east of Qujiang. The museum is China's first dating art museum, built by the two countries together. The total area of 2910 square meters, display area of 983 square meters, the rest for the courtyard green, is a typical imitation of... More

I tried to visit this museum today but, unfortunately, it was closed and when I rang the number on their website, it was closed. I'd been looking forward to going here while in Xi'an, so was very disappointed.

Interesting variety of artworks from modern to old Chinese. There are artworks for sale. Make sure you have a go at calligraphy while you are there.

This museum might be small, but is an absolute insider's tip: We were the only visitors and they switched the lights on extra for us! We got a personal guide to show us the museum: a very friendly young woman who spoke very good English and explained the main exhibits to us. She even gave us a short practical introduction... More

This is a very distinctive place, but usually it's hard to understand its real value and meaning, especially for the foreign guests don't know the Chinese ancient culture, so I need more detailed introduction and propaganda, make the viewers have prepared, and then to visit, will have a better effect。

This art museum is small but well worth a visit. We saw both old and new Chinese art and even had a calligraphy lesson. There is a small gift shop where you can purchase art done by art students and art professors from the local art school.
