After visiting the Grand Tang Mall near the Bell and DrumTower, this is on our next itinerary. An interesting food street though most of the food stalls are similar and repeating. As most of the food are new to us, we only try out some of them. You realise they are Muslim with the cap on men and head covering on the ladies.

It’s been 15 years since i’ve last visited and they sanitized and modernised this street. Still similar Xian and muslim snacks and small eats. Very bustling even on a weekday night

Close to the Bell Tower and Drum Tower, and full of eateries. Many of the shops sell the same or similar food and drinks, but the variety is wide enough to choose from. Go hungry and grab a small bite from a few stalls to get the most experience.

What a wonderful experience walking in the Muslim Quarter and meeting friendly and shy locals. Tasty food, Pomegranate juice and Naans.

Visit to the Great Mosque was very educational, got a chance to pray Dhur with the locals as well

The Muslim quarter covers most of the North West section of the old city. The main street starting near the Drum Tower is were most tourists go and why not. Lots of food and activity on this street.

But venture to the west of the main drag and the more local life you will see with many restaurants qnd food stalls catering for the residents but also welcoming of tourists.

Worth a visit and I wander around.

If you consider yourself a foodie then this is your place. If not, go here anyways and eat. The ambiance and energy are worth the stroll.

The area is busy and filled with life. The best part is the back streets where the real lives happen. Walking on the back roads you can experience the reality of the local community, how they eat, how the shop, what is popular between them. It is a great place to know the local culture and try some delicious local food. Special highlights to the lamb pita bread soup, lamb bbq and pomegranate fresh juice.
