I am a zoo lover so always like to visit the zoo when visiting any city with the zoo.

This zoo is quite good including most animals. The restroom is clean, the environment is soothing to walk around.

Love this zoo.

Well, this zoo is large that you will spend 3or4 hours. The variety of animals is relatively complete. But tourists need to be aware that pandas usually come out for activities in the afternoon, and they will blow air conditioning in the panda pavilion in the morning. At the same time, the implementation of pedestrian flow restrictions in the Giant Panda House.

If your on a mission to see a Panda. This should definitely be on the list. The best thing to do is get there for opening times so you do not have to deal with crowds.
There are also impressive animals such as Tigers, white tiger, Elephants and Giraffes.
The staff are very focussed on the care of the animals. The zoo is undergoing a regeneration on parts of it which means the monkeys park was not open. Defiantly worth a visit.

We were in the area for brunch and decided to try it out. I believe we got a discounted price at 20 RMB per adult because many of the pavilions were closed. We saw most of the displays but the Ocean Exhibit was closed and there was construction in the area.

I believe the signs said the zoo was 50 years old and it shows. Many of the exhibits had bare concrete floors which was sad. The panda was not outside the day we went but it looks like they should still have one.

The birds and ponds areas seem nice and lush but everything else isn't too exciting. They have a "Guinness world record" area that claims to have the most fish tanks but I don't believe it is legitimate because there was maybe 60 small fish tanks filled with mainly goldfish.

The interesting thing about the zoo is that they found an ancient tomb while renovating the rhino exhibit and they set up preservation and housing for the tomb which was quite interesting. Most animals seemed healthy but I hope they better invest in the animal exhibits so it would be better for them.

The closest metro is Guangzhou Zoo and it is close to some nice restaurants in the main area of Guangzhou. I think young kids might enjoy it but there are much better things to do in the city. There are some pretty funny signs here but 90% of the text is in Mandarin.

It was a short pleasant trip after lunch. There's restaurants inside as well and the water features and birds were the best part. Otherwise a lot of animals many I haven't seen live before.

This zoo is amazing, there are lots of animal species from around the world. Nature is also amazing! If you have enough time in Guanghzou, I recomend you to visit it! You can count on spending 2,3 hours there.

I only went to the Guangzhou Zoo to see the pandas for the first time in my life. The big pandas were inside their enclosure because it was too hot for them outside haha. So they were inside chewing the bamboo not caring about the taxes and traffic jams in GZ. Red panda was also a nice animal to see after all those videos online. Other animals looked ok but some of them looked a bit sad and their enclosures should be much better. There is even one part where pitons, iguanas, chickens, bunnies, little ducks and turtles are all living together. Guess who was eating who when I got there? Of course a piton was swallowing a poor bunny. Except that they all looked happy living together.
