This is the most amazing temple in town!
Around 1pm there are monks chanting in the hall, it's a great experience to join.
Make sure to eat at the Vegan restaurant! Downstairs serves buffet, which is the best in town, so many dishes and choices, you will never miss eating meat. The Tricholoma matsutake tea is the best beverage I have ever had! They are popular so make sure you stay alert and get yours before they are gone, although they do refill often.
And upstairs servers a la carte.

Along the busy and bustling street of Beijing Lu stood this nice and big Buddhist temple and it is one of the top and popular tourist attraction in the area. You can enter the premise, walk around and take photos outside and it did provide some peace and tranquility from the crowd and loud noises from around the area.

And if you come at the night, the temple will be beautifully lighted and present another perspective that is gorgeous.

For us, though not Buddhist, we see it from the cultural, history and philosophy aspect throughout the years and were impressed by it's architectural design and layout!

Dafo Temple, or the temple of big Buddha, is a revamped sanctuary right at the heart of Guangzhou. A close witness of Chinese history, it was last destroyed and almost demolished during the Cultural Revolution. The current complex, although largely a reconstructed version, is still encompassing and worth a visit. The illuminated facade is a big tourist draw.

A very nice temple, beautiful lighting in the evening. It is quite large with multiple rooms and courtyards. Definitely one of the landmarks in Guangzhou.

A contrast to the surrounding commercial outlets, this temple is a gem. Well maintained, respectable and the comforting sounds of chanting were underway in the main temple when we arrived.

Went there with 2 pre-teen kids. We tried the vegan buffet, and although not cheap, the quality is similar to that you'd expect from a 5 star hotel buffet, so was well worth it. Not to mention, the buffet fee is a contribution to the temple itself - Win-Win! Kids and I loved the vegan buffet, and will be back for it again, before leaving GZ. So far, this is a highlight of our visit in GZ.

The Dafo temple is absolutely stunning and inside they have a huge vegetarian buffet filled with the most delicious food. We are vegan so our tour guide took us here for lunch and we fell in love. All of the items that contain dairy or eggs are clearly marked in English so it was very easy for us to eat. Just make sure you don’t take more than you can eat, as it’s frowned upon to leave food on your plate.

We stumbled on this temple when we were walking around the famous shopping area of Beijing Road. It has a beautiful courtyard with ancient trees and buildings with beautiful statues, mosaics, and paintings. There is no admission charge but you can leave donations and offerings.

I walked passed the main entrance many times before realizing that if I walk up the narrow alley, it leads to the beautiful Dafo Temple. This is very close to Being Lu and is essntially in the Beijing Road Shopping Area. Solemn prayers were taking place during my visit, with many locals and a few tourists praying. A beautiful place of worship.
