This place was not really on my list to see, but always ready to explore and experience something new. This was one of those places. On a lighter note, grooms should not really venture around with your bride (to be).... you will never make it out of there. It is a maze ! This place is more suited for those getting married and are looking for bargains and some replica's or cheaper versions of fancy Vera Wang style wedding dresses. Though they have a ton of stores selling wedding dresses.... Was interesting to see most men glued to their mobile phones, while the women are trying out outfit after outfit.

If you like to see ALL about wedding. You are in the right place.

Better you can speak chinese.

And the price usually 50-60% below the price tag.

If you buy a lot, the price could be lower.

Excellent place to shop for your wedding items! Book your stay with Skyline Plaza Hotel which is located within the Wedding Street. It will be good if you can speak Chinese to do your bargaining. If you plan to have your item wedding gown to be tailored, it will take 22 days for it to be ready. Unless you take the wedding gown off the rack, they are just as beautiful! & one size fit almost fit for all!

It is a great place to go wedding dress shopping! So basically the whole Jiangnan DaDao Bei is divided into 2 - one is the boutique stores by the street, the other is the alleys behind all the boutique stores. So TRUST ME WHEN I SAY I WALKED THE ENTIRE STREET up to bottom. They have tonnes of ballgowns (that seems to be the favored style of the Chinese) but I did not go into all the boutiques as I was not looking for a ballgown. The boutiques will let you try about 2/3 dresses (ask first!) while some in the alleys won't let you try at all. Some boutiques on the street only sell wholesale so what I did was upon entering each store ask 'Do you sell or Can I buy just 1 piece for me'

Determined to buy a dress off the rack , right away, no alterations, straight up take and payall within a solid budget, little ol picky me only took 3 hours to find one!! I paid RMB 1700 (Chinese Yuen) = MYR 1,000 (Malaysian Ringgit) for a beautiful fishtail white dress.

-Most stores speak limited English or none at all so I used Google Translate(available offline). You must already have VPN as China restricts all major social media Whatsapp, Facebook, Instagram etc etc

-Stores open generally from 10am-5pm

- Price in the alleys go as low as RMB 150 (crazy!) to RMB 6,800 in boutiques. Mine was RMB 1,700

-Wholesale available @ a lower price

-Nearest hotel is Skyline Plaza Hotel (2mins walk to the wedding dress street); we stayed at an Airbnb (10 seconds walk, literally we were above a wedding dress store)

-Install the Wechat app & a free VPN app on your phone, most of the sellers use Wechat

- You can bargain, but I did not, as I felt like my dress was worth what I paid. I only fished for a free veil and got it.

- I also bought some bridal lingerie, Bridesmaids robes for my girls at RMB 50 each, wedding sneakers.

-Sizes generally run quite big, I'm a size 2-6 (or a Malaysian M to L) but might be hard if you are bigger than an XL, they will do it but they will take about 20 days to custom tailor. I've heard many horror stories about dresses that get delivered are not up to what they chose, sometimes a different dress altogether so...

-Buy off the rack if you can.

- Also in the alleys : Bridesmaids dresses, Men's suits, kid's wedding attire for little bridesmaids & groomsmen , wedding shoes

-Walk around make sure you cover everything first while window shopping then decide what is best for you. You might find the same dress same quality for a cheaper price in another store.

-Walking is best so wear slippers or something easy. No bras, only undies made it easy and fast for me to change in and out of a dress when trying.

-They fancy so might be tough to find simple dresses , but don't limit ur options - I did not want a white, lacey, tight fitting dress but that was exactly what I bought as it fitted perfectly and looked so beautiful on me.

- I bought from the shop (in pic, pink biz card). Remmy spoke OK English, his wife the designer Liang En did not but we both traslated our way through and they were awesome!

Feel free to ask me any questions, I had such a good time shopping and would be happy to provide more insights on this street.

First time coming to wedding street and was totally worth it. Bought my wedding dress for £400 but there are a lot of dresses lower than this around £150. Any wedding attire and accessories you will find here at a good price. They all speak mandarin and Cantonese maybe a little English. We stayed at Guangzhou hotel so was easy access to the market as it’s just over the bridge.
