Come out of exit B1 of YueXiu Park Metro Station and turn left and the main entrance to the park is about 100 metres. If you feel energetic walk up the hill or like us after a dim sum lunch at the Li Yuan Restaurant, Pan Fu Road, take the electric bus for 10Yuan a passenger and walk down the... More

First of all Yuexiu park is huge. Don't make the mistake I made by entering without grabbing a map or at least taking a picture of the maps posted. After visiting the 5 Ram Statue and wondering around lost for a while I found the Guangzhou Museum. If you're interested in the folklore that is Guangdong/Canton this museum is great.... More

Located within the compound of Yuexiu Park after the Five Goat Monument on the upper part of the hill. Very small museum but informative about the early Guangzhou history. Within less than 1 hour, the visit can be completed. Some of the display & stories are repititive with the Nanyue Museum at the nearby downhill.

This is a good climb and healthy walk to get to. You can see the evolution of Guangzhou from its beginnings to now.

Located within Yuexiu Park, well worth the 10 Yuan entry fee but the whole place is a little run down. You can easily feel the history of the place, the cycles of fire destruction and rebuilding. The tower has seen the history of GuangZhou unfold and is well paired with the other museums like the GuangDong Museum where you will... More

This is one of the "Top 10" places to see in Guangzhou. Do note there is an uphill walk to reach the entrance, however, the walk does permit stone and brickwork examination enroute if your unexpected MI (heart attack) does not occur. There are 5 floors with each being a different sort. My favourite is the red Qing Dynasty mechanical... More

While the display collection is modest, it offers a good overview of Guangzhou history, with each floor representing a newer period as you climb the historic tower. The western/muslim quarter of the old city is a testament to the city's founding as an ancient maritime trade hub. Low key, leisurely place to explore for a family outing.

Decent museum on the history of Guangzhou. Be on the look out for the oldest "water clock" in China -- very impressive -- constructed in the early 1300s in a village in Guangdong province. Other archeological findings on display are also great specimens for 2,000+ years of history. As one other reviewer said "has been restored so many times I... More

Has been restored so many times I am unsure how they claim it is the original building but it doesn't really matter as it is great little museum and well worth the visit, especially if seeing the park at the same time.

This 5 Story pagoda is located in Yuexiu Park and is full of history including the story of the 5 Goats statue. Cannons are located out front and the old City Wall is nearby.
