WOW! When my business associate suggested we visit this tea market, I thought "this should be interesting". What an understatement! This place is the size of a Western shopping mall. I lost count of vendors after 100..........and each of them offers a special selection of teas, pots, cups, and other assorted local items. I will definitely find my way back when I return to the Guangzhou region!

The whole Fangcun tea market is the biggest tea market in South China. Within the endless tea shops, you'll find all varieties of tea shops and tea accessories. You can pretty much find any quantity and quality you are looking for if you have enough time. There is some variability of what is in stock at the time you arrive.
If you need more information, you can come to shop C36, 443 Fangcun Dadao Zhong and ask for Philip.

This wholesale tea market was recommended by our Guangzhou guide. Our group of ten enjoyed tasting and selecting small lots of fine teas from the major tea-growing areas of China. Primarily for commercial buyers, this wholesale market houses more than 3000 shops selling all grades of tea and accoutrements. One shop that welcomed tourists was Liu Lian Zhu. The owner gave us tastings of fine quality jasmine, black, oolong, pu-er and white tea attractively packaged in a round cake. I paid about $16 for a half-pound of fine quality jasmine. It was packaged and sealed for customs. If you enjoy tea and have a few hours to visit the tea market, it is a worthwhile educational stop.

Visit this tea market and bought good quality of tea from this shop located at level 2 有度茶业 - lady boss 叶彩燕 is very nice and taught us a lot about the tea.
Thumbs up!!! And the price is very reasonable too for fine quality of tea leaves pls look for her shop.

There is a big market building on the eastern side of the road, which I found much more useful than the market that you reach on the other side, accessed via a walkway under the big road you can't cross otherwise. The big building had endless shops in them selling anything to do with drinking tea. There was hardly anyone there, kids using the hallways rollerblading, and you didn't have to walk vast distances. Just don't come here hungry! There really is nothing far and wide but teashops. Nowhere to rest except going into a shop sampling tea...
I don't think it's terribly interesting coming here except if you come with the intention of buying something.

Wow this place was absolutely incredible! Not so much a market but thousands of stores that sell tea and tea products. A great place to go to get a great deal on tea and experience some culture while you're at it. Some of the teas I bought here were selling for twenty times more at the airport.
If you have a bilingual friend or guide it would be best as not many people spoke English... I used a translator app and got through just fine though.

Love the old traditional tea ☕️ market. Lots of choices, do your homework first to see which Chinese teas you would be interested in. Never buy from the stalls in the front they are always more expensive.
Bought a great selection and negotiated to a good price
Enjoy 😊 your ☕️

Easy access by local bus, taxi as well as subway from Guangzhou city centre. Whole place are selling tea leaves and individual shops are doing wholesale as well as retail. So you can purchase small amount from each shop as every shop normally sells one kind. Price are reasonable but not much deferent from everywhere. You can taste tea before you decide to buy tea leaves as there are so many level of price even in one of the kind.
