This place is perfectly designed for family. Not only the numbers of all birds and spices around you but huge play ground, many restaurants and education parts make the Chimelong birds park one of the must for family with kids.

Choose this particular Chimelong attraction because its the cheapest (100 rmb).
Getting there is a bit challenging- not near any metro. I alight at line 3: Hanxi Changlong Station (Chinese: 汉溪长隆站) station and walk to Safari South entrance (approx 1km) or take the shuttle bus. At the Safri South entrance take the shuttle bus to the bird park.
You can also go there via line 2 : Huijiang Station 会江站) but there's isn't any proper bus stop in that area (lots of construction going around too) so I won't recommend it. You can consider alighting at line 2 and follow the crowd to the station when you return back to your hotel.
Shuttle bus timing is about 30 mins apart and usually start at the hour.

There are all sorts of reptiles and surprisingly many other animals and plants. Really a great place to go. Just a little more out of the way that the other Chimelong parks (20 minute on site bus ride from the other parks to this one}. I admit I like the other Chimelong parks more but that is no indication that this one is anything but great. This is a little more take your time and enjoy the park on a lazy day type of attraction.

Didn't know what to expect but sure had a fun afternoon at this zoo. A free white shuttle bus outside the metro station will take you there and back but please note the last return to the metro station. It was much bigger than I thought it would be. Lots of birds, snakes, reptiles, crocodiles, hippos to take pictures of. My favorite was the hippo that came running up when called, which posed and mugged for me.
A walk through a tunnel displaying frogs, snakes, reptiles was so interesting. It took a long time to get through.
The entire area is beautifully landscaped too, with special ponds for swans, pelicans, koi. You will enjoy an afternoon walk through this zoo. They have special shows during the day too; one was where they bring out critters for you to touch.

I went there last weekend, Sunday around 3pm, there were very less people, quite and peacful environment. Lots of birds in their natural environment voliers, also had crocodile lake, where u can feed the crocs, lot of crocks also in not so nice voliers, with less space, but still u can see them very close, which is nice. 2hr is enough for stroll around the park, its not so big. Nice place to spend time with kids, (also have big playground for them there) as well as have a nice walk with bf/gf. Went there by metro line 2, stop Huijiang, exit B. There will be a small shuttle bus which will take you to park and back for free.

I visited here on recommendation from a friend who said that the park is home to thousands of crocodiles. I'm not sure if this is true or not, but the appeal for me was in seeing the many different species from the small "Siamese crocodiles," to the "crocodile king." However in haste to ensure that each crocodile can be easily identified, this means that many of them are kept in solitary vivarium, little bigger than my old student bedroom.
Most of the crocodiles have a large open expanse to roam, but I couldn't help but feel sorry for those which were confined to small enclosures. The same was true of the reptile house, with 6-8 turtles sharing a tank I would have deemed barely big enough for one.
Other than these concerns though, the day was still enjoyable. There are many things to see other than crocodiles, including a variety of birds, hippos and tortoises. I viewed some of the shows - wild bird show in particular was good, and the staff were very friendly.
One girl in particularly (whose English name was Helen) gave me a good tour of the nocturnal animals area.
It's worth a visit, but there are better things to do in Guangzhou.
Getting to: Take the metro to Huijiang (line 2) and take exit C. From here you can take the free shuttle bus (at quarter to, and quarter past every hour), take one of the many motor taxis, or walk (about 1.5km), West for about 500m until the first (signposted) turn-off which takes you North. From there, just follow the road.
The price is 90yuan per adult with reduced multi booking tickets available if you want to visit the safari park as well.

It's a amazing place for close encounters with the animals. We got there by taxi but to come back you have to take the shuttle bus only. Please get the show timings flyer on entry. We did the crocodile and pig diving show only. I think the reptile show seemed great but it was earlier than we reached and there was a parade at 3 pm which we din't wait for. We fed the crocodiles , hippos and pelicans. My child could hold an iguana, baby crocodile and baby turtles. We skipped few sections like reptiles and nocturnal animals but were more than satisfied with our 2-3 hour visit.
