The Canton Tower stands at the intersection of Guangzhou’s new urban central and the Pearl River scenery zone. Right across the river, is the Asian Games Park and Zhu Jiang New Town, together with the Guangzhou Opera House, Library, No.2 Children’s Palace and Guangdong Provincial Museum it forms the new metropolitan sky line. The Canton Tower is the tallest TV tower in the world with a total height of 600m. The Tower was built using the latest engineering technologies, but inherits 2000 years of Canton Culture. It displays Guangzhou’s vision and determination to the world. The Tower offers an observation deck with a spectacular view, several top-notch restaurants and catering services, 5-star exhibition, convention and entertainment facilities. All these enable you not just to enjoy the magnificent scenery of Guangzhou, but also to experience the excitement of adventure at great heights.

Most Entertaining Tower
Aug 2021
Many cities have a skyscraper or a tower with observation deck, but Canton Tower outshines them all for its innovative adventures.

There is a “bubble tram” at the 460 meter level, where you sit in a ferris wheel type cabin that goes around the top of the tower for 20 minutes. There is also a “sky drop” that’s similar to a vertical drop ride in an amusement park, only that it starts from 485m and drops to 455m.

Another adventure not to be missed are the rope courses rated red, blue, and green in decreasing order of difficulty. The intermediate blue course is at 200 meter level, and there is nothing between some part of the rope course and the ground 200 meters below.

Don't make the mistake we made (visiting on public holiday)
Apr 2021
I'm sure on a regular weekday when nothing else is going on, this might have been a pleasant experience. However, I have now learned to never ever visit a tourist spot on the weekend of a public holiday. Perhaps if there had been signs outside warning me of the horrible experience I was about to go through we would have gone back to the hotel. Instead, the chaos from the very beginning should have clued me in. We bought tickets online a day before going, thinking that would be helpful. Nope. The SMS we received said to go to the East or West ticket office to pick up the paper tickets. Turns out, we waited 72 minutes just to get into the West ticket office. Our kids finally thought life was about to get better after being in line in the heat of GZ outdoors for 72 minutes... but wait, there's more. They trick you into thinking you can now enter the tower. Instead, you have to wait another 70+ minutes inside for the elevators. I'm not exaggerating at all. It was a total of 180 minutes from the time we go in line to the time we got to the top. Oh but wait, there's more. Once we got to the top, we had to wait in another line for the smaller elevator to take us to the top of the top. Oh, and then we had to wait in another long line to go back down. By this point, the kids were all so exhausted and didn't care about the view whatsoever. Neither did I to be honest. We took our pics and quickly left. But... turns out there were too many people so the entrance to the subway was closed. They tried diverting us to a different subway entrance (in which we had to push our way through to reach), only to find there was another hour or so wait to get onto the subway. So we tried convincing our kids if they could just walk a little further (45 minutes), we'd get them any treat they wanted the next day. Yup, we had to walk back to our hotel because we couldn't get on the subway. So, ladies and gentlemen, I do hope you read this before going. My number one advice is do not under any circumstance, visit on a public holiday. It won't be fun.

Great trip!
Feb 2021
Beautiful tower, especially at night. The view on the top is unforgetable. Guangzhou is worth visiting. Travelling in Guangzhou is not so difficult except for some language problems until recently the GZ government has had an interpretation hotline(+8620960169), which can provide great service for public affairs and government services. I used several times taking taxi and asking for directions, the interpreters are quite professional.

Too many people on holidays. Good to visit in evening or night to view canton tower in ligts. You can have a visit by tram on river side by 2 rmb. On river side there are many other places on river side. Each stop of tram has a specific visiting spot.
