Easy desert trip in KSA. Take a 4x4 or SUV. Good camping spots all around and climbing out the crater can be tricky but still worth it.

From Jeddah, 4h30 drive with a normal car on norma roads of good quality leads you to the edge of the crater. Many villages are around with gas stations everywhere. So no need a 4x4 with reserves in fuel and water and a skilled driver....More
