In front of the mosque there is a parking area alternatively there is a good availability of spaces where to leave the car in the streets in front of the mosque. Unfortunately the location of the mosque among other buildings makes it difficult to take good photos of the structure in its entirety. This mosque owes its importance to being the place where the Prophet Muhammad received the command to change the direction of prayer from Jerusalem to Mecca. During the reconstruction of the mosque in the 20th century the old prayer niche facing Jerusalem was removed leaving in place only the old niche facing Mecca.

Wonderful experience, which could have done with better signposts. The only real information is inside the Mosque, so signposting and taking people through details on small bits would help. Loads of people didn't have much information.

A masjid with 2 qibla.

Beautiful architecture beside as a place of worship and prayers.
All parking must be done on back of the masjid.

A must stop visit during my stay in Medina Al Munawara, Masjid Al Qiblatayn is a beautiful mosque where the miraculous revelation for the change of the Qibla (direction of prayer) from Masjid Al Aqsa Mubarak (Jerusalem) to Kaaba Sharif (Makkah) took place as Prophet Muhammad (pbut) were in mid prayer. I had the honour to pray 2 rakats Salah and Insha’Allah I look forward to visiting again upon my return✨

This is a very good place to pray to Allah and the inside of this mosque is so beautiful to look at because it has been carefully looked after.

Unfortunately due to Covid, the mosque is closed outside of prayer times. Disappointing to say the least.

So the kids fed pigeons while we browsed goods at an Al Munawara kiosk and a dates vendor outside the mosque.

One more the historically important mosque in the Islamic world. Masjid Al Qiblatayn is the oldest and beautiful mosque in Madinah, Mosque of the two Qibla's. After Prophet Mohammed had received the command to change the Qiblah, the direction had been changed from Al Aksa mosque to Holy Kaaba in Mecca. Must visit place and pray two rekat salla.

Must see
Only mosque of this kind.
2 x qiblas
Imagine when Prophet PBUH was leading prayers and Was told to change his qibla. Mind you both are almost 180' opposite. Imagine the surprise of the Sahaba performing Salat when the Imam PBUH turns and faces in opposite direction. But did any one falter? Did anyone question? Such was their faith that all turned and shifted their Sajud towards khana kaba. The revelation was made after the prayers.
Armed with this thought do visit and say Nawafal.
May HE accept our prayers.
