An inexpensive museum in a Decemberist's house in Irkutsk. Walking distance from other city sites. This gives a good, concise overview of the life experienced by those who were known as the Decemberists.

Travelers who have read Maria Volkonsky's Princess of Siberia will enjoy visiting this museum. Maria followed her husband to Siberia as an exile too. The book and a visit to this house bring history to life.

The other one is the Trubetskoy house-museum, on ulitsa Dzerzhinskogo. I think you can buy the discount ticket at both venues.
