I'm not a fan of the exterior color, but the inside of this church is beautiful. Wood iconostases. Beautiful painting all over the interior.

Large church, visible from many places in Novgorod. It was monument of Novgorod, until there was build stadion behind him. Interior is impressive. Many icons, altar, candle stands, ...
Since I donť know how to behave in orthodox church, I feel not welcomed there. But it worth to spend there few minutes, because the architecture of this church is just nice.

This church is quite old by itself, but the interior is very recent, restored and build up from ground up. Sheer size and magnificent decor of this church is truly amazing, regardless of your religion and belief. Absolutely a great place to visit. Transportation could be tricky, so rental car or taxi is the best idea.

Walking towards the cathedral gives an impression of its importance. The outside appears rather different than Russian orthodox cathedrals. However, inside it differs in such way that its beauty reflects the significance of this cathedral and in the time it was built. It is built where the river Oka meets Volga. Some say that Nizhny Novgorod was supposed to be the capital of Russia. When visiting the city you will understand why.

This Cathedral stands out when you overlook form the other side of the river. It has excellent interior and is very easy to get there by Metro.
To go in women need to have their shoulders covered (as in any Orthodox church) but on the right hand side if the entrance they provide you with clothing to cover your shoulders and/or legs (if women are wearing shorts).
It is worth the trip!!

Dropped into this cathedral; right next to our Hotel but otherwise a bit out of the way; huge bell outside, monumental structure, beautiful art inside.

Maybe the best attraction of the city. Amazing Church from outside and inside. Too many icons on the inside, you will get lost. If you have the chance, attend a service to experience the greatness of Russian Orthodox Church.

what struck me the most about this Cathedral is its facade - in a bright buttercup, it was really quite different to the other cathedrals we visited on the trip. the iconostasis was particularly impressive.
