The Mikhailo-Arkhangelsky Cathedral is situated in the center of the Kremlin.
This is the only monument of a religion achitecture on the territory of the Kremlin which was kept until ours days. Here lies the ashes of Kuzma Minin.

Having thoroughly examined the Nizhny Novgorod Kremlin, we came to a large square where there is a monument to Prince Yuri Vsevolodovich and Bishop Simon of Suzdal, behind which there is actually another historical and architectural landmark, the snow-white building of God - the Cathedral of the Archangel Michael. Unfortunately, the temple was closed when we visited. Historical facts say that during the period of independence of the Nizhny Novgorod Grand Duchy, the Archangel Cathedral was a court temple, and with the loss of it, it became the tomb of some descendants of the first prince Konstantin Vasilyevich. Konstantin's great-grandson Prince Vasily, son of Simeon Kirdyapa, who died in Nizhny Novgorod in 1404, his son Prince Ivan Vasilyevich Gorbaty-Suzdal, Prince Ivan Vasilyevich, son of Vasily Kirdyapa and great-grandson of Konstantin Vasilyevich, Prince Vasily Yuryevich, nephew of Ivan Vasilyevich, are buried here Kirdyapy. In addition, princes known only by the names Peter, Zinovy, Zosima, Jonah and Princess Irina are buried here. And in the early 1960s, the ashes of Kuzma Minin were transferred from the cathedral. It is an object of cultural heritage of federal significance. Recommendations for visiting and familiarization.

The oldest cathedral in Nizhny, whose history began in 1221, and the current building was built in 1631. We visit the cathedral during every walk through the Nizhny Novgorod Kremlin, including to pay tribute to the memory of Kuzma Minin, whose grave is in the cathedral (and not at all “relics”, as some authors mistakenly believe)...
