A visit to the cathedral alone is not justified in my opinion but if you are already exploring the Peter and Paul Krepost then you should stop by. The tickets for the cathedral can be purchased separately like all the other sites at the krepost....More

Peter & Paul Cathedral is the tallest building in St Petersburg's historic area and is the focal point of the Fortress. This beautiful Cathedral dates to the 1720s. Many of the Romanov tsars are buried in the Cathedral, including the last rulers Nicholas & Alexandra.

The reason most people visit this cathedral is because it is where the Tsars and their families are buried. The cathedral is in the Peter and Paul Fortress. It was a nice stopover, but if you have limited time, visit some of the other cathedrals...More

The Peter and Paul Cathedral is within the Peter and Paul Fortress, however its thin golden spire is a very visible landmark form up and down the Neva. A cool and shady interior is an impressive open space, with no fixed seating increasing the available...More

Peter and Paul Cathedral, located inside Peter and Paul Fortress, is the oldest building in St. Petersburg and the interior is simply stunning. In addition to an amazing iconostasis, the cathedral holds the tombs of Russian tsars since Peter the Great.
