On the 8th of June in 2012 the national show-museum «Grand Maket Rossiya» opened its doors hospitably for the wide auditory. By this time, thousands of citizens and quests of our city watched this unique exhibition. On the layout area of 800 square meters you will see the generalized images of cities and regions of Russia. Hundreds of moving trains and cars, sound and light effects add dynamics to the exposition and thousands of tiny figures make the genre scenes. Add the astonishing effect of day and night changing doesn`t leave a single visitors indifferent.

In its way, it's just as crazy and elaborate as the city's czarist-era palaces, It's worth taking small binoculars to see some of the detail within the exhibit. I liked how the maket includes derelict buildings and junk cars, etc. -- a nice bit of candor.

What a place to visit, particularly on a rainy afternoon in St Pete! Plenty to occupy the whole family and a very good cafe as well.

A nice and different museum with a minature world of almost the whole Russia. It has some interactive parts where the minatures come alive with a push of a button and for example take fotos, milk the cows, or run erands. Most adults won't find much interest after the first 30 mins but children will love it and praise their... More

An incredibly detailed and very well planed model of many regions of Russia on a grand scale. Miniature running trains, ships and vehicles, cities, sea ports, night and day, houses, historic buildings and figurines of people and animals. I liked the St Petersburg section best showing in detail many of the main attractions. There is a good cafe which serves... More

A fantastic way to spend our final few hours in Russia - a wonderfully detailed model of the whole country from the tundra to the cities, with moving trains, cars etc. Really lovely - everyone thoroughly enjoyed it! Great cafe and friendly staff too

We went to check out this museum based on reviews in TripAdvisor. I must say, that visit was really interesting and there was much to see also for teens (and adults).. Warmly recommend! Also the film in the kino room was interesting, with subtitles in English it would have been even better. What I especially appreciate was the humour and... More
