This is a big palace - you see over 20 rooms - and the decoration in a range of styles is spectacular but also beautiful. It has marvellous inlaid floors, elaborate chandeliers and a drop-dead gorgeous baroque theatre. Worth taking the audioguide as there is little information in the rooms. More attractive in our view, if less grand, than the... More

We went here as I really wanted to see it, but it was closed- no explanation as to why. Complete let down.

Some of the rooms in here are a little cheesy with the recreations, but overall this is a neat place to check out. The history and legends kind of speak for themselves so it is cool to walk in the footsteps.

A former private residence where Rasputin was killed. The story is historically important in the history of Russia, but less thrilling to visitors from other countries. The diorama, wax figure of Rasputin in the cellar was almost creepy. The home included a small, but ornate theater. The saving grace was a performance by a male chorus of Russian folk music.... I should start by confessing that I did not participate in the Rasputin tour. The palace is not too far from Palace Square, but though a strangely quiet section of the city. The theater is perhaps the most impressive section of this palace, but overall it has an oddly Soviet feel to the renovation which seriously impacts the impression of... More

The Yusapov palace was one of my favorite stops during a recent stay in St.Petersburg. A beautiful succession of rooms, extraordinary parquet floors, magnificent furniture and other furnishings. The small private theater, all gold and red velvet was extraordinary; well worth the trouble to get tickets for ballet and other intimately scaled productions. The wealth and political influence of the... More

The palace has an amazing theater that the prince built for himself. The Rasputin diorama is okay Don't pay extra to take pictures.

This palace was a highlight of our 2 day tour. It has gorgeous interiors, art, talented male singers and a very palpable sense of history. The mannequin of Rasputin, in the basement kitchen, was a bit too evil looking and grubby, but added to our interest.

When you visit this palace, you will imagine how lavish the lifestyle of the Yusopov family has. But listening to the travel guide made you appreciate more of what happened to this palace. The life of being a tsar, politics, family secrets and even murder from this place. Worth visiting !

Who isn't familiar with the story of Rasputin? But this palace is much more than the place he was shot. The theater is amazing and so are the other rooms. It's also larger than one might expect. It was one of our last stops on our tour and I'm so glad we included it.
