Great!

If you've ever been to Rome, it's like having in front of you a miniature of St. Peter's. It definitely is well worth entering. You should spend around half an hour there.

The size and extravagancy of this place is worth seeing. A bit confusing place full of icons, prayers, altars and place of icon salesmen create this beautiful place of chaos. Long line to the most important icon, religious people in a trance-like state pushing others to be able to kiss it and pray for it. Entrance is free, so go... More

We have travelled with a guide and she took us to Kazan church on the main avenue Nevsky. We were impressed and inspired by wonderful singing during the service. You can visit it for free. No pictures inside.

The most European city in Russia..and the most Russian city in Europe lol. This is how people of Russia usually call their second (northern) capital. I was lucky to get inside when I was passing by (around 7pm) and saw a stately building impregnated with history. People in prayer and Orthodoxy church service made a unique atmosphere for the walk... More

This cathedral is not a pure tourist destination and the fact makes it even more attractive since locals visit the place on a daily basis. The architecture is not unique but still very charming and impressive. Some locals wearing historical Russian garments are usually around the monument and are ready to take pictures with you (it's not not free for... More

We passed this cathedral the first day. And I checked the opening hours on my phone and realized it was open until eight. We went in and saw a lot of Russians in prayer and the priest and choir was singing beautiful hyms. Worth a visit.

Walking down the Nevsky Prospekt you can see two different style cathedrals, the first one is Church on Blood and the other one is Kazan cathedral. Both are Orthodox churches but look totally different. Church on Blood looks like other orthodox churches in Russia, with colorful domes. But Kazan cathedral looks like Roman catholic churches in Europe. It resembles St.... More

I often visit this church. It is a real monument of ancient architecture both inside and out. Inside for those wishing to spend excursions. The temple is functioning and there are services in it. And most importantly, there is an ancient icon of the Kazan Mother of God which is known for its miraculous properties.

I didn't have a head scarf so I was a bit nervous going in, but I made it a point to look around and saw that some of the much older ladies were wearing the scarves. Like almost every place in this city, this was stunning and unique. And it's free! Just outside, there was a man serving up fresh... More

This is unique architecture Cathedral even for Russian Orthodox Church. The entry is free of charge as it is existing church. There are guided tours for free. You can touch the Kazan icon of Our Lady . Inside the church there is Basilica of Michael Kutuzov who won the war with Napoleon Bonaparte.
