Architecturally this is the master piece. Could not go inside but we're allowed inside the premises for photos . As the church is very tall could not take pictures thru I phone . But even from the distance it stands tall and elegant . If u think st . Petersburg then this church only will stay in ur eyes.

This is a must if you are there. We are not people who need to visit every church, but the full coverage of mosaics was astonishing. Also interesting to me, this was done sort of at the last time when there was the "labor force" to do something of this magnitude. A moder masterpiece of an ancient art form.

Another iconic building of Russia. This appears where you least expect it! Very busy on the outside with tourists taking pictures. And why not! Its amazing. However did they build it. The architect was having a field day with his design. Well worth a visit. Gobsmacked. Having wanting to visit Russia since I was young, I have been overawed with... More

This Church is built in traditional Russian style with the onion domes and the place where Alexander 11 was murdered, it is marked with a Chapel beneath a bell. The painting of the Church on the outside is in vivid colours inside it is all in mosaics, just fantastic.

One of the most spectacular interiors I have ever seen. Won't take long to visit theoretically, but you soon become lost exploring the details of all the mosaic in the interior. I guarantee you will end up with a neck ache from staring upwards.

The exterior alone with the colorful domes is very beautiful but the real treat lie inside with the many mosaics. Red and green marble is used throughout. The name refers to the asassination of Tsar Alexander 2 in 1881. Horribly neglected during the Soviet era but now beautifully restored. Definitely a must see.

As beautiful inside as it is from outside. Of course you have to cope with the hordes of tourists there but you probably wont notice them since your eyes will be fixed on the amazing ceilings

A landmark building in Saint Petersburg. The interior is stunningly beautiful and full of history. Not a large space, but the architectural detail and artwork take time to see.
