A great place to visit. It has a great cultural importance. It was built just before the October Revolution in Russia.

Our mistake was to go in the morning when the church was seriously very over crowded with parties from the Cruise Ships. It was almost impossible to see statues or anything very clearly or to take any photographs. We decided to press on as we...More

Another highlight. Although not an active church anymore, still gorgeous with amazing mosaics and a chance to see one of Russia’s iconic churches

One of the places you must visit for the presentation either from inside or outside. Thanks to FIFA world cup the world could know about RUSSIA in this way. Their history and cathedrals and museums are one of the best in the world.

The mosaics inside this church are amazing. When you first walk in you think they are paintings until you get up close.

But you can go inside. Nearby is where they had bits & bobs for the World Cup in 2018. The sun was at an awkward angle when I was there & it took many efforts to get the "shot"! Fantastic!!

This church is not typical for St Petersburg. While most of the buildings there follow the West European architecture, this church belongs to the Russian style. It illustrates the epoch of the Emperor Alexander the Third when Russia was returning to the origins.

The church is so ornate and beautiful. It is beyond description. The gold and the intricate tile work is amazing. I really recommend seeing with a tour guide as they give some history and back story that we would have missed if we did this...More
