Built to memorialize Alexander II following his assassination in 1881, this magnificent church with Italian pink marble floors and numerous mosaics was modeled after 16th and 17th century churches, contrasting sharply with the prevailing architectural styles.

Can't believe this place was basically destroyed during WWII and painstakingly and beautifully restored! Don't miss it.

One of the iconic images of St Petersburg and of Russia with the 7 towers. Stunningly beautiful building wit a very interesting history... as all these old buildings have.

I visited this place with my wife and both of us totally stunned with the power of architecture of this building. I love it at all and suggest it to everyone who visit this city.

Lights at night with different colours make a unique scene of the church. You can take marvellous pictures without flash at night.
