This is the right place to chose if it rains in Veliky Novgorod. You can spend hours to see icons and armory, and to learn about the history of Novgorod and Russia. Free guided tours on weekends at a certain time, unfortunately only in Russian language (but maybe understandable as there are not too much foreigners on the way). Well... More

Amazing! really amazing museum with great collections of armory, household items, drawings, birchbark manuscrips (highly interesting and valuable for the linguists, chroniclers, etc), I have never seen such a huge collection - all dedicated to the Region and local tribes, communities and events. There are special hours when you can join the groups for a free excursion with the Historian... More

I'm having trouble finding the right place for my review of the history museum that's located inside the Kremlin, as the lead picture that Tripadvisor has posted here is actually of the Museum of Wooden Structures -- which has a separate review. Also, our guide book and the local map we picked up in Novgorod had different names for this... More
