As other reviewers have said, the building is in dire need of external and internal renovation, and there are no obvious signs outside to say it is a museum except a small printed notice on the door. I went with a friend on the last Sunday in November and there was only us and 3 young men from Seoul inside.... More

Although the building isn't in the best shape and some of the displays aren't professional this is still worth a visit to see hundreds of years of Russian Naval history. Hire an English translator if you do not speak Russian or you won't get anywhere near as much out of the museum. The day we went we were, for most... More

Despite it being listed on the official Murmansk website it was closed. The opening tmes pasted up on the door seemed irrelevant. We had emailed them in advance ( both in Russian and in English) to request a Meeting with the curator responsible for the Arctic Convoys but had never received any answer. You Have to get a Visa or book a shore trip, we went with Cruise & Maritime to go on any trip in Russia.The trip we chose was the Norther Fleet Museum In Murmansk. was in my view poorly maintained. the building looked as if it had been in a battle with plaster of the wall, both inside and out....
