The Estate is beautiful but a little tricky to locate by public bus from Tula. There is a lack of signage so if you struggle with Russian language maybe try and come on a planned excursion. The estate is beautiful and we went when all the leaves were gold! The ticketing system is a little strange and it appears you... More

If you like Tolstoy and nature you need to come here. If you have never heard about Tolstoy it's still worth to come. Huge territory with loads of different gardens. When you walk there you can try to imagine how he walked there. Also you can find his grave there however if you won't know that it's there you will... More

Tolstoj's estate of Jasnaja Poljana is absolutely remarkable. The house is as it was in over a hundred years ago. So much history. All of his precious books are in his personal library and then there's remarkable portraits on the wall. We caught the bus from Tula here and we bought tickets with an excursion for 200 rubles. We indeed... More

Leo Tolstoy was born in this house (Tolstoy called it Yasnaya Polyana). He wrote “War and Peace” and “Anna Karenina” here. He was buried here, too. The house became Tolstoy’s memorial museum in 1921. The museum has Tolstoy's collections/writings of more than 20,000 books and much personal stuff, like dresses, shoes, furniture, dinning sets, wall pictures, etc. We walked around... More

This is a beautiful estate a few kilometers outside Tula. You may walk the grounds, enjoy crafts and nature for a very nominial fee. Or for a few more rubles you can take a guided tour that includes the interiors of two buildings including the house where Lev Tolstoy was born and lived as an adult. The normal tours are... More

If you come to Tula, Yasnaya Polyana is a must-visit place. It is a piece of carefully preserved past, telling a story of the life of one of the greatest writers in history. The tours can be made in different languages, among them even Korean (!), so everyone will find a suitable option. Apart from waking in a tour group... More

nice complex with many facilities like restaurants spa hotel large swimmingpool. verry interesting was the cryo sauna that went down to 180 degrees below 0. Food in the restaurant was good, due to the low rubble rate was the pricing acceptable.

Big territory, amazing views (especially in summer time). There are many cats in Tolstoy's house, a lot of apple/cherry trees and horses. I recommend.

First I had a great tour in the Tolstoy's Museum House in Moscow. Booked one full day tour to their Yasnaya Polyana Estate by Pioner-Tour Travel Agency, located in Moscow./www.Pionertour.ru/ Great tour, great tour guide, nice, clean bus, departure from Moscow. It is about 3,5 4 hours tour to the Estate, on a way coffee-break. First stop is the village of... More

The park is pretty far from the city, so make it a full day trip. The territory open to public in yasnaya Polyana is huge! After taking an optional tour of the facilities or renting out an audioguide walk further into the park and have a nice picnic in the wild apple orchard.
