The bulding was opened in the 1930s as an exclusive home for Stalin's ruling elite and was one of the first monuments to Soviet constructivism. The notorious House of Secrets became a symbol of its time, when Stalin's purges took its residents away to firing squads and labour camps.

The building is more attractive by its history and the life stories of those who lived there. Visited one of the flats there.Ugly flat design.

A somber experience with so many echoes of the past packed in a couple of small rooms. A very attentive and caring staff is there to welcome you to their museum. Access from the embankment (river) side, enter the courtyard and turn left.

Very small exhibition about the history of the house. It's kind of hard to find, the entry is next to the theater, you have to go into one of the backyards. But it's really worth it! There's also information in English, but you can read...More
