We attended this hall 2 times and love it! It isn't huge and is located a few steps from the Metro exit. If you can, buy tickets for a performance of the Moiseyev Dancers here. We think they are the best in the world!

Amazing concert hall for those who appreciate classical music. It has such an unique vibe and sound acoustics. There are tons of incredible concerts by best musicians offered there. You will also enjoy the buffet. Not necessarily because of food (it's overpriced just like at any theatres) but because it reminds me of soviet cafeterias. It's simple and cosy.

I sometimes visit it, be that jazz or classic music. Situated next door to Mayakovskaya metro station, it's in the heart of Moscow. Its beautiful decoration is amazing. Acoustics is great. This time I listened to S.Stadler and his symphonic orchestra from Saint Petersburg. "24 fiddles of the King". Perfect and glorious! Food is served during the interval. Everything is... More

I like visiting this Concert Hall regularly for concerts or spectacles of Russian folk dances, such as Igor Moyseev ballet or Beryozki. The hall is light and airy in its design, the sound travels well and it has overall pleasant feel. Tickets can be bought either at the main ticket office, through many agents located in small press-like stalls on... More

Heard Tchaikovsky played in the Tchaikovsky Theater. Bought tickets at ticket counter inside. Easy and very enjoyable. The Tchaikovsky Restaurant in the same building was also very nice.

The concerts here are first class and worth visiting. Ticket prices vary, but are generally good value.

If you want to hear the classic music or feel the sound of the real instruments - it's a nice place! Almost always you can buy the tickets before the concert (30 minutes before), the acoustics is great, no need to seat in the first rows, repertoire is available in the internet. Every spring they organize guitar festival (Guitar's Virtuosos)... More

I visited the Tchaikovsky Concert Hall on a Thursday evening. It is easily found by the Mayakovskaya Metro station, just remember to exit at the station nearest to the rear of the train as the entry is literally in front of you when you get out. The hall is a bit older, and I guess from an aesthetic perspective I... More

It's the worst hall in Moscow. Bad, poor and half-empty sound. There's one thing I've noted - no matter who performs there and what is being performed, the audience leaves the hall immediately once the concert is over. Barely any demand of ancores, they just want to get out of there faster. Atmosphere in the hall is so depressing. But... More

Staying in Patriarch Ponds

Neighbourhood Profile
Patriarch Ponds
When you need to hide from the city’s noise and traffic but don’t want to stroll too far, Patriarch Ponds is the place to be. Calm water, friendly swans and ducks with beautiful early 20th century architecture in the background make this neighborhood a place you’ll never want to leave. Besides stylish bars and restaurants scattered in the streets around the pond, you’ll be able to enjoy museum life from modern art to a former private apartment of Mikhail Bulgakov. As most of the businesses are open late, stop for a cocktail and then stroll by the pond to rent a boat and row yourself to the middle of the “bowl” as the locals call it.
