Very large mall with lots of stores and shops. Everything is very expensive, but one should visit it not for shopping but rather as a museum. It is especially colorful and decorated during Christmas and New year times.

From the glass roof to the 4 floors of designer label shops this place is a delight just to walk around even if you cant afford to purchase more than an ice-cream. Situation right next to the Kremlin and Red Square it was a life saver during our visit as once you were through the doors you were blasted with... More

An exceptional building from 1893. The most expensive brands are selling here today. But the beauty is inside and outside, especially in anticipation of the New Year.

The famous GUM (ГУМ) is a large shopping mall facing the Red Square. Its facade resembles a royal palace, and it is specially charming at night with all those lights. It has an impressive structure and finish, which includes a huge glass roof and a fountain. The three elegantly designed floors are connected by bridges. The place is notable by... More

Window shopping for most tourists, sine the stores are high-end. Make sure to taste ice cream in the lobby area.

I visited Nasledie at GUM for the best souvenirs. You get all types, except the Imperial Russia souvenirs (available only at Armoury, Red Square)

Huge, one side of Red Square, most stores are very upscale but there a few affordable ones. No. 57 on the third level is a cafeteria featuring traditional Russian fare, great bargain, good food.

I was in Moscow during the last New Year Holidays and GUM was in my agenda of things to see. What a let down! From the outside the building is imposing and by the time was lit up with many lights, which produced a nice atmosphere especially during the evening hours. I entered this building imagining something sumptuous but instead... More

Lovely magical place, warm and welcoming. Many upmarket boutiques. Pushcarts selling 50 RUB ice cream on ground floor. Very very affordable soviet styled self service cafe on top floor (be warned - long queues at lunch hour!). We spotted a cinema there too. Near 3 metro lines. Free clean toilets.

Walked though on a minus 15 day in January to get away from the chill of Red Square for some time. In fact we needed to buy clothes as well because our luggage was delayed. There were very few shops that sell day to day practical clothing unless you are a member of nobility or belong to the lucky sperm... More
