Get an impression of russian modern art and avoid the tourist massess in the other Tretjakov gallery. Also must visit the park next to this museum it has all the statues of the Soviet period. You really get a good insight in this period.

We really enjoyed this Gallery, it was not too big and had a lot of good art. There are so many art museums in Russia and they have the best of most painters. 2 hours is enough to have an overall view.

This 20th Century Art Gallery has one of the most impressive collections I have ever seen. There is a brilliant mix of styles and pieces from world renowned artists. It is free on Wednesdays and there is also free wifi throughout the museum.
