Well worth visiting while inside the Kremlin. Very photogenic. Only a couple of the churches were open when we visited.

These were visited as part of our guided tour of the Kremlin. All completely different to ours in the UK but reflecting the Orthodox credo. Another have to see to form an idea of the Russian people.

Veeery beautiful, but come in summer to enjoy to the full. Gives smell of old Moscow. And the wealth as well.

Cathedral Square is one of the several must-see sites in and around Moscow whether or not you are Orthodox Christian. The cathedrals there are not the grandest or the largest in present and former Russian territories. However, together with the largest broken bronze bell and the largest bronze cannon never ready to fire any shot next to them, they form... More

This square is a must visit in Moscow other than the Red Square. There are 3 main cathedral/churches located in the square such as the Archangel Cathedral and its worth visiting each of these churches which are different in their own way.

This was part of our tour in the Red Square and I loved the amazing Churches and those Golden Minarets set against the Clear blue skies so much that I went there almost 3 times again. The Place is serene and almost always flooded with the tourists but then it never is too crowded. Whenever you plan though, make sure... More

Avoid the long queues by booking online and collecting your tickets from the "pre booked Tickets" window. There is the usual metal detector and bag search before entering the Kremlin grounds, and there are no restrictions or extra fees on photographs taken within the walls. There will most likely be queues to get into individual cathedrals but they move fairly... More

Entry is by ticket so book on-line before you go. This way, instead of joining a long line at the ticket office - the glass building in the Alexander Gardens near the Kremlin walls - you can turn up at the "pre-booked tickets" window in the same building to collect your ticket. I never saw a queue at this window... More

It's one of the few places where you stand in middle of the square and you see beautiful cathedrals on all sides. From inside each of the cathedrals have their own unique roots. Visiting this square is a must on the tour of Kremlin, ensure you have a guide to take you through the interesting history.
