It's a good zoo and nice place to visit alone or with your kids, it's not expensive at all. You can enjoy the nice view of the sky with the open zoo along a lot of animals and species.

Moscow Zoo is something very special. If you are tired of seeing "точечная застройка " and not looking for supermarket "в шаговой доступности" this is the place to be. Moscow has successfully invested in collection of different creatures, that make you happy once you step in. Renovation works have been done and nowdays the Zoo is welcoming disabled people as... Peaceful place- maybe lucky kids at school? Amazing to see white tiger-hope he wasn't too sad in his small enclosure! A nice trip out.

A very big place full of exotic animals. Make sure you have at least 3 hours to spend at the zoo because there's really A LOT to see and wonder. We didn't have too much time before the closing so we didn't get to see most of the animals. The staff didn't speak too good English but we managed. The... More

Was pleasantly surprised by the amount on offer at The Moscow Zoo. There was a wide variety of animals, most of which seemed well cared for. An English speaking staff member at the zoo museum was very informative and was genuinely passionate about her work.

Catch the metro to Krasnopresnenskaya station. Across the road is the entrance to the zoo - you can't miss it. Large grounds, reasonable enclosures, an amazing sculpture just inside the entrance. The zoo is split into the old and new sections so be prepared for a fair bit of walking. Not the greatest zoo I've ever been to but better... More

Though it is a good place if you have children, we found it a bit boring. We covered the place in less than 30 minutes. Not that adventurous for us.

All I can say wowww. After visting london zoo i thought this would be a damp squid. I visited this place with very bad expectations . As soon as I went in we saw ducks in a pond and I laughed thinking this would be the best it had to offer. It wasn't until I walked further into the massif... More

The zoo was a really neat experience. It's a huge zoo in the center of the city, and there are lots of animals! It's totally outside, though, if it rains (like it did when we were there), it means you're either soaked or hiding out in the gift shop for a big chunk of time. Also, it wasn't especially different... More

Staying in Presnensky

Neighbourhood Profile
Presnensky
The neighborhood is divided into two major halves by Krasnaya Presnya street: the southern part highlights Moscow city – businesses contained in skyscrapers along with the White House - where the Russian government works. The north is a bit more relaxed and casual, visitors here will find the Moscow zoo, National Centre for Contemporary Arts and a number of fine restaurants. The beautiful neo-gothic Cathedral of the Roman Catholic Church of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary is usually packed with the events such as organ music concerts.
