Red Square, once the site of executions and military parades, sits smack in the middle of Moscow, bounded on one side by the Kremlin walls and Lenin's tomb and on the other by GUM, the country's largest department store.

Red square was everything we expected it to be. Make sure to also see it at night as all of the buildings are lit up.

The square itself was being set up for a parade when we visited, but we still got a sense of its importance. Surrounded by lots of stalls sellI got hand made goods, and there are also lots of opportunities to buy snacks or ice cream.

From the Russia ice cream to the cleanliness, not what I was expecting in Red Square. We were also lucky to have beautiful weather. It felt very European, and the Russian history is all around you.

Amazing place to visit day and night If you haven't done already stick it your bucket list. Spend the time to Visit inside the kremlin and not just outside in the red square.

You must have been here when in Moscow but the square itself (although some very nice buildings) isn't very special.

It's better than pictures. Costumed actors to take a photo with. Shops are quite expensive. Also I thought it would be colder in oct.

Big and impressive. Beautiful, especially in evening lighting. The big department store GUM is located here.

This small yet important neighbourhood is full of
state institutions and offices. To understand where
modern Russia began, go to the Kremlin and State
Historical Museum on Red Square. After satisfying your
historical curiosities, indulge in modern pleasures at
GUM Department Store - not just for the sake of
shopping but for the sake of architectural pleasure as
