Timisoara was during VIII century a slop castle. Two rivers:Bega &Timis, menaced the city with flooding. During the XIX-th century, the authorities decided to drain the "anarchic"rivers ,transforming Bega in a navigable channel. It was used almost 100 years, then, abandoned. Today's authorities projects to renew the "navy road",able to...More

Here you can also eat or drink because there are several pubs and restaurants, but also here you can find Parcul Rozelor or Parcul Copiilor.

The Bega river is pretty nice but it is not that well taken care of so looks kind of dirty, for sure the area arround it can be improved. Also not so many restaurants or cafe shops on the riverbank so mainly walking or bike...More

This is at the heart of the city and a great place to have a walk, ride a bike or just clear your mind. I was expecting more action on the riverbanks, but quiet areas are also welcome.

It's a nice long walk but it can be overcrowded during evenings so it's far from a relaxing walk if you're looking for one. You can sometimes take a boat and ride it on the river too. Good for biking and rollerblading.

Went there in October, when it was still pretty warm and the river is a beautiful place for a little stroll. there are also many interesting bars along the way.

This river brings vibe to the city. Walking and bike tracks run along side the river and it’s great for a walk after dinner. The banks of the river have lots of bars and cafes with restaurant boats and bars actually in the water. The...More

The Bega Canal (this is not the natural river course) to the city's inner south is lined extensively by parks and paths. Ignore the garish children's playgrounds and it's a pleasant place to meander (nobody sticks to one side of the paths or the other)...More

I ran here each morning along the well paved river paths. The river takes you around the city center and parks and though the many neighborhoods along the river. I felt safe and it was lovely.

Bega river runs through Timisoara and makes a great place to relax by. It's not very big, but big enough for some water sports to go on, which makes quite a spectacle, especially on weekends.
