If you are looking for a leisurely stroll and pretty tourist shops to gather souvenirs, avoid this place. If you want to experience the energy of the oldest commercial street in the country and be amongst everyday Cebuanos, then come prepared to be immersed in a crowded but always moving urban population, and more than anything, go with the flow.... This is a long street that has a combination of old stores and new ones. It's like walking down Cebu's shopping history

We can buy affordable items. There are also malls, food shops and stalls and tiange. Its hard to park at the area. This is the downtown area. Just be careful and dont expose valuable items.

Colon Street in Downtown Cebu is the Oldest Street in Cebu and in the Whole Country. It is also the shortest national road. Named after Christopher Columbus.

"Oldest street" conjures up pictures of pre-colonial elegance, interesting architecture and history steeped ambiance....forget it! Anywhere else this street would be demolished and replaced. It is hot, dirty, unsavory , not safe after dark though you'll be ok if careful. Traffic pollutes the air all day. You can find safe havens like Jollibee's or the Gaisano mall but why go... More

See the oldest street in Cebu, and also the whole country. We just passed by the area riding an airconditioned van. To have a quick see of the commercial/trading history of the city, since we have the old (74 yrs old) and the young (7 yrs old) in our group. Mostly first timers in Cebu. I had first walked this...
