We went because of the extra high rating. Nothing wrong with the place, it is just that it seemed just like every other park and not worth a special trip past other parks. Lots of geese and their droppings. So again, nice place but I did not think it was worth driving 10 miles out of our way expecting something different.

Scenic....sensual...seasonal. I grew up in a neighboring town and we visited the park regularly. I loved the freedom of the park. I visited the park the last time I was in the area. It is still beautiful.

This is a nice park, which was 1/2 mile from the hotel we were staying at, on the western shore of Lake Owasco. It offers the following amenities: boat launches, fishing, disc golf, picnicking, swimming ,playgrounds.

This is a pretty park on Owasco Lake, and a nice place to spend part of a day with the family. There are picnic tables and grills, nice views of the lake, a playground, shelters and a building if you have a group event. There are facilities for launching a boat. There's even a disc golf course. The Merry Go Round Theater is in the park and professionally done musical plays are performed during the summer.
There's also a small beach, but it isn't too great (see the comments of other reviewers). But don't let that discourage you from enjoying the other features of this nice, well maintained park.
During the summer, there are fees to enter the park with cars or boats, but they are relatively small.

This is an absolutely beautiful park with fantastic views from the end of Owasco Lake. Very spacious lawn areas and mature shade trees. If you are a boater this is the spot to launch, as there is a very large marina. There is also a large enclosed pavilion for private events. Now the bad news: We went for a picnic and expected to swim at the beach. From the parking area it is a bit of a hike to get to the waterfront. There are handicapped spots at the front of the parking lot but pushing a wheelchair to the water was a chore. The "beach" where swimming is allowed is very small, probably about the size of a basketball court. You cross a dirt road to a neglected sandy waterfront beach area littered with rocks. The bottom of the lake is also littered with rocks and there is a very limited area you are allowed to swim in. Considering it was the 4th of July, we expected a large crowd but there was probably less than 50 people at the beach area. What a shame that the County can't come up with some funds to do something better here, maybe even build a pool if they can't figure out how to let people enjoy this beautiful lake for something other than boating.

The historic Emerson Park pavilion underwent a multi-million dollar renovation 6-7 years ago and it is a fabulous new venue in Auburn now. Our Chamber of Commerce (and many other organizations) hold their annual dinner there, and it's a treat to attend. H&J Hospitality of Ithaca contracts to run the food service out of the pavilion. Expensive but worth it, and they'll work with you on the menu and costs. Can hold up to 400 people for weddings, dinners, and other special occasions.

I have been to this location for weddings, gala's, and just to enjoy a walk with friends, walk my dog, and enjoy the beauty of the lake.

We visited this gorgeous park once again when we were in town to visit family. It is so beautiful it is almost fairy-tale-ish! We walked out to the end of one of the piers and admired the flower plantings -- still lush and beautiful, even in October. The only slight down side during this visit was that the water quality looked bad -- brackish, with a lot of plant growth, which we read about in the local paper, as causing some problems with the water quality in Auburn, NY.
