This building has an interesting history from the century before tourism discovered Puno. It was our first stop, since it was on the main plaza, one block from our hotel. Also as a cafe and bar you can sip just a coffee or a beer and not feel out of place. See separate reviews under restaurants.

This is a historical building that now houses a bar, cafe, restaurant and other shops. It's so pretty. It reminded me of Frida Khalo's house in Mexico city with it's lively color and cool vibe.

This review is as a thing to do, not as a cafe/restaurant.
The building has had a complicated history. It’s interesting to walk around and definitely worth calling on if you’re in Puno. It won’t take long to see and it’s located close to other things you’ll probably see.

We walked into this building as we have read it had an historical significance. We found it to be just ordinary. The building does have a beautiful blue balcony on the outside. We did see the coffee shop but none of the craft shops.

After reading all these good reviews my expectations were pretty high. Sadly my expectations were not met. There was one waitress for about 30 people, so service was really slow. (but the waitress did her job very well considering) when the food finally arrived it was either cold, bland or both.

I dropped in here, interested in the house heritage, and enjoyed a good coffee and apple pie in quiet surroundings as a break from sightseeing in the town centre. It was a little expensive but I was happy to pay a little extra for the peace and quiet. There were cards giving the building's history which I found fascinating.
