To cruise on this amazing lake, we spent a night in Puno and that left us "breathless" as we tried to adjust to the altitude. Even a few steps up the stairs or slope was a great effort so we have to do everything slowly. The lake cruise left us "breathless" as we took in the beauty of it. Uros... More

There are a lot of aspects to this lake besides tourism. It is the life source for those that live there. There are also trout farms.

It exceeded all my expectations. Although very touristic it's a peaceful and very authentic place. The Uros Islands are beautiful!

WOW, WOW, WOW....This was one of the highlights of our trip. My wife and I even went for a dip in the lake, boy was it cold. We stayed at a homestead on one of the islands and played football with the locals. They didn't speak English so it was all sign language to our best abilities. Went on a... More

More

We saw the floating Uros islands and Taquile Island - unique and fascinating places which all contribute to the impression of how varied Peru is as a country. Boat trips are long though - make sure you bring layers as temperatures can vary a lot.

Lake titicaca is a beautiful and greatly important place to visit. Anyone interested in the Inca should include this birthplace of the Inca in their travel plans. But it is just a lake when it comes to the scenery. Any other lake with mountains would give the same effect so don't go JUST for the scenery. But for the history,... More

Highest navigable freshwater lake in the world @ 12,500 feet 138 miles long by 35 miles wide. It is the 18th largest lake in the world. One thing that you want to see for sure are the floating islands both in Peru and Bolivia !

We were traveling from Arequipa by bus to Lake Titicaca, a trip arranged by Edgar Adventures. Well worth the bus ride, a bit long, but a once in a lifetime in this part of the world. The Lake and its attractions were spectacular. Beyond expectations. We took the tour to Uros and Taquille to spend time with local people. Do... More

Fantastic walks, views, people and food! Really enjoyed it we stayed longer than we planned because it was so tranquilly. Take a bottle of rum, some mangoes and nuts, and enjoy the views!
