It wasn't great. The whole thing felt fake. It was more of a money making exercise than an experience of the actual communities on the real islands which we passed on a boat but don't stop at. The reed boats are decoration and are pricy...More

This is a pastiche of what the real Uros islands are. It's all about getting money from you. The reed boat ride was a scam as it has to be pushed by a motor boat. It was interesting to see how they built the islands...More

The Uros Islands are so cool! The community we visited was extremely friendly and we were able to learn a lot about their culture through demonstrations and from our tour guide. They showed us how they build the islands, cook, and live. The traditional reed...More

this community of people are so friendly, and so hard working, wow one man rowing a boat with a boat made of reeds full of tourists with cameras flashing in his face, wow what a patient and hard working man and community.

Refer to review if Lake Titicaca. The floating islands are perhaps now over commercialised though necessary both for their survival in a modern world and to help educate those visiting the region as to how communities have lived in this manner for 000's years. The...More

If this was more is a tourist trap then reality.. seemed hard to believe they lived there Year round with no cooking or bathing facilities.. they had a 'mock up cooking area but clearly not sufficient to feed all the family members that lived there..

This place was so pretty, I have traveled to alot of places and this particular place looks very unique. The people were so nice; I went here with Bolivia Hop and the price was really cheap and everything was taken care of.

Spent a delightful morning (approximately 3 hours) on the floating islands. Easy to get to independently, just make your way to the port, pay s10 for return boat trip and s5 entrance. An islander gives you an insight into life there (in Spanish), then you...More

Definitely the best experience in Puno and possibly one of the best in all of Peru. Can't miss out on these floating islands and the local families living on them.

There are lots of buses that run between Puno and La Paz so should be easy to sort once you are in Puno. Maybe just check with your hostel/hotel for recommendations. You have to get off the bus at the border, sort your... More

We took Edgar Adventures. It was a bigger tour but they do private tours as well. They did a good job and were rated highly on Trip Advisor.
