I went with a group of 6 people on the Quetzales hike. It's quite a long hike where you go up 700meters in altitude so be aware of that. It has amazing spots to look at the rainforest. I would recommend doing this when in or near Boquete.

We took a taxi from Boquete to Cerro Punta with another couple for $60 and hiked back to Boquete. There are frequent buses back to town on the Boquete end. Considerable effort has been expended to maintain this trail with wooden staircases in some of the steepest parts, but there are some spots that need attention. Overall, it is in... More

We went from Alto Chiquero to Alto Respingo and back. 14km and about 1000m altitude. Total time 7-8h. Can be done easily if you are used to hike. Great hike well maintained and signalized. No guide really necessary. Good trecking shoes are recommended

Go in the morning and approach on the Volcan side of the trail rather than on the Boquete side. Otherwise, you'll be walking uphill most of the way, which is very tiring. The hike takes at least 4 hours. Start in the early morning when the wildlife is most active. By noon, they're all asleep and you might be disappointed.... More

Due to previous weather conditions, the trail was closed on the day we planned to go. I'm not aware if there is a site where you can get this info, but it would have been helpful and we wouldn't have had to pay a $15:00 taxi fee.

Trail is well marked, however it is steep and rocky and often slippery! We hiked from Vulcan to Boquete a full day hike!

We entered from the Volcan side and hiked the entire trail. Don't believe the Park signs for mileage, they are completely inaccurate. If you hike the entire trail it is about 13 km. The sign says 5. In fact as you walk the trail it says 5 km in 3 places. At any rate, the trail is interesting because it... More

We did the tour today starting with a cab to the beginning of the trail we paid 5 usd to access the signed quetzals trail which offers a short hike up to a waterfall and back. Which seemed to be the tour. Little disappointed in this as it seems there was not much on offer for the price you pay!!... More

I had repeatedly gone there at the correct time of day and have yet to see a Quatzal there. I believe it has become too popular a spot. Quatzals prefer seclusion. Maybe I didn't go far enough down.

Take a taxi for 3 Dollars each to the entrance of the park or use the bus which is starting coming from the park on the main road 300 meters on the right side. The bus will not stop on the entrance directly so you have to walk a while. Entrance fee should be 5 or 6 USD, but there... More
